Managing the UX for Windows ServerIn 2011, after my work on the Common UX team,
I took the helm of the Windows Server UX team. At this time, the team was gearing up to finish design on Windows Server 2012 but the design was not done and many other products were in the work. I lead the effort to finish and test designs for the main product and resourced many customized experiences (Windows Server Essentials, Multi-point Server) and Services (Remote Desktop, File History) as well as server workloads (IP Mgmt, Network Management). |
Re-configured the team to increase impact
I reorganized the server team to be able to deliver on several concurrent projects encompassing User Research, delivery of designs for Windows Server 2012 and its framework of design patterns as well as design specific server roles (File Server, Remote Desktop and more).
In order to validate quality and consistency between the interfaces within Server Manager, I own and operated the UX chapter of the Windows Server Engineering Tenets. This program covered the validation of design and research for the teams that we could not support directly. I created and published the process, as well as conducted reviews with the feature teams adopting our platform. |
Late 2012, Windows Server Shipped with 5 workloads having been re-designed by the team to enable multi-server management.
